Advancing as a human being and becoming more balanced, and whole, is often the natural outcome for many people that have broken free from their addictions. However, it's no guarantee. I blocked and quit following an addiction writer on this platform after reading one his articles that revealed his need to marginalize poor people with dental problems and make fun of Indigenous alcoholics after spending time at a reservation on one of his "Christian" missions. People can be sober, connected, religious, fully engaged in running, yoga or rock climbing and still be terribly broken. 😢😢 (I quit following another writer after discovering he had an enormous ego)
Excellent topic. Thanks for sharing!! You covered a lot here. 😊
