As a person that has worked for the corporate world for over 40 years, it has been my experience that companies with high turnover are just shitty places to work. Not for every employee, but for most. I was shielded as a division manager for one company because I created a new division for an existing employer. The proprietor's core market put his employees (Disadvantaged, Bosnian immigrants) through a meat grinder......a very dangerous job that sent his workers to the local med center, almost weekly, to get stitched up. The owner had access to an abundance of desperate human beings through his church, and ridiculous turnover was factored in and a totally acceptable condition in meeting his profits. The division/new capability I brought in was unrelated to his existing business and required a skilled trade. (Paid well) My unfortunate Bosnian coworkers made shit wages with zero opportunity for advancement. This is just one example many I've witnessed over the years.
