As a person that struggled with decades of alcohol abuse, I experienced some remarkable "awakenings" in recovery, even though I abandoned my faith and stopped praying years ago. Had I maintained my practice of prayer and faith, my experiences in recovery would have possessed me to shout about my "spiritual awakening" from the rooftops! I would have "proof" because my cravings died, just like I begged.....excuse me.....prayed for. (My higher power to the rescue!) I don't claim to know whether or not divine forces exist in our universe, but it's not hard to smell bullsh*t. The humans that inspire me most lead by example, not YouTube channels or mega-churches. Regardless of how authentic they might feel, our experiences belong to us individually, and it's unwise to assume that what we've experienced is universal. Sharing experiences is one thing, but insisting that our "spiritual awakenings" apply to everyone, is silly. (Though, only timing prevented me from loudly proclaiming my perceived awakening)
Awesome topic. Thanks for sharing! ✌️😊
