Hmmmm. It seems whenever the ego positions itself to dominate others it can get ugly. When the joy comes from the defeat of others, and it's passed down so the frustrated jock raises his kids to be overbearing, classless a-holes. I'm sure you have seen the parents of overly competitive parents at school sporting events. Ugh. It doesn't get much uglier. But I participated in competitive sports watch basketball and football now. There are some amazing athletes that turn into horrendous human beings with their narcissism though. Yikes.
