I can't overstate how important articles like this are to people like me. However, your statement "Healing doesn’t happen in solitude but in community. Disorders of disconnection can only be healed in connection." suggests that I am not healed or never will be. It's a blanket statement similar to the "higher power thing". I would absolutely argue that it's much easier, preferable, or highly recommended to find community, but stating that it can't happen kind of dismisses people like me. I would have LOVED community and the support of other addicts, but circumstances dictated a solitary journey. I still do seek community, but this platform is the closest thing I have to that, and I'm still here.
