I do give, and I don't judge people that find themselves homeless because of mental illnesses, addictions or just hard luck, but those masquerading as homeless and preying on charitable people are con artists. I know that most people we see holding signs aren't living the good life and most pan handlers aren't hoarding riches, but criminals would rather take your money legally if they can. I'm only advising caution because times are tough and getting tougher. I wasn't encouraging people to stop helping others. I agree that when we decide to open our wallets, it's a judgment call.
