I ordered a book on self-therapy a few years ago because I didn't have access to mental health services through my health insurance. The book introduced me to Internal Family Systems. Quite interesting and helpful for me to better understand myself. I couldn't bring myself through the exercises though. Having conversations with imaginary entities --- (thoughts/impulses/behaviors) naming them and drawing/sketching out physical descriptions of them, was too much for me. 🤭 But in combination with journaling, meditation and exercise, I found the book to be worthwhile.
