I started noticing this on business email signatures a couple of years ago while working for a logistics company near Chicago. The office was super inclusive, which I really loved. People from all over the world were employed there, with a variety of religious traditions represented, as well as gay and trans employees. Though not everyone who worked there was " woke", everyone complied with the company's strict policies against discrimination. As the "geriatric exhibit" in their museum of diversity, (I'm nearly 61 now) I learned that my heart was comfortable standing with the most marginalized and scapegoated employees, even if I didn't fully grasp the need for he/him she/her.
