I'm not a pro here at all, but I would like to offer some tips on how you might get more eyes on your work Jessica, because I believe your experience can inspire people that are struggling. Medium is constantly screwing around with how their platform works, so maybe this won't benefit you, but I would suggest following every person that's published an article that you like. A lot of writers will follow you back. Without followers your articles can just wither in limbo. I have run across articles that have outstanding content, are beautifully written, and I will be their first clap and often their first follow! Some of these articles are years old and the authors have packed up/gave up because they weren't getting any reads and it breaks my heart. I would also suggest commenting when you read an article that inspires you. I had over 100 followers just by commenting before I published my first article. I subscribed to Medium to read and was motivated to write by a kind addiction/recovery writer. (They're no all kind though!) I don't consider myself a writer, but I love writing sometimes and have a select few people that seem to actually like what I've posted! LOL! There are also publications here that you can submit your work to, and they will give you a much broader audience. I'm not qualified for that, so I just have fun publishing here when the spirit moves me. Good luck and I look forward to reading updates on your journey!!!!
