Learning to appreciate our moments and live in the present is extremely hard for people that like to party. (Most non-addicted people never discover the value of it) The extra time you have on your hands may open up new creative activities for you, but it will absolutely give you the opportunity to practice mindfulness.( I downloaded a guided meditation app and started journaling once I was safely detoxed.) I would encourage you to read the numerous sober stories available on this platform so you can see the surprising variety of approaches there are in overcoming addiction. It's not a "one size fits all" journey.
