Mixed race people often (Not always) get treated with hostility by their non-mixed peers and are routinely criticized for not being "enough" or being "too much", not representing with enough urgency, anger or pride.......by one side or another. We're dismissed or ridiculed for voicing our opinions, even if we're sickened to the core by white supremacy. We're targeted by people who are unwilling to accept any story or representation that isn't 100% in-line with their own perspective and opinion. Our perspectives will always be off and distorted, because apparently, we're just contaminated. (I'm mixed too,.........Indigenous & white, but nobody would know if I kept quiet about it) I see biracial and multi-racial people get brutalized for making comments on articles about racism that seem quite benign, but they're apparently nothing but a simple minded disappointment to the other readers who are launching ALL CAP ATTACKS, complete with plenty of exclamation points.
If there's a moral to the story, perhaps it's that, no matter who you are or what you do, there will always be a small committee of people who hate your guts!
