More articles like this please!!!!! 5% to 10% is a lot of freaking people, yes.....but a miserable freaking success rate. The number of people that get damaged or setback by that failure is rarely talked about. When people that enter those rooms are made to feel as if it's their fault if AA or 12-step doesn't work for them, it's bullshit. There's a cultish, brainwashy element that simply doesn't resonate with everybody. I went to two meetings in the Chicago area just recently and they absolutely closed with the Lord's prayer. I know some non-judgemental people that were able to get sober through AA, but it's often a hostile place for people like me. They have a strong desire to dominate recovery and it's time that nonsense stopped! Thanks for writing this! 👍✌💪
