There is also an extraordinary amount of waste that accompanies all those choices. I would be interested to know how many pounds of food are thrown away every day because it's virtually impossible for stores to sell the huge variety of shit they're stocking on their shelves. At one time, local grocers used to sell their pre-prepared foods/meals at a discount latter in the day, when they were less fresh. Now everything is tossed into the garbage.
