When I was a younger man, I always hoped that we would all become an indistinguishable race of one, so intertwined that racial hatred couldn't exist. Maybe complete, human blindness is another way, but human instinct for hatred would likely evolve into us developing other criteria to discriminate against each other, like we do with religion. (Diet, language, voice pitch, skin/hair texture) Hatred and intolerance find ways to appeal to humankind. Racial labels are a convenient way to maintain the status quo.
